Refix: The Desk Companion You Talk to by Tilting
A desktop robot that sits on your desk, talks on its own, asks questions, plays games and runs a pomodoro timer. It has no buttons; you control it by tilting.

Refix is a small robot companion that sits on your desk. It talks on its own, asks you questions, plays games and keeps a pomodoro timer while you work. It has no buttons: you control it by tilting it left, right, forward or back.
Highlights
- Button-free control: Tilting Refix slightly and holding, or twisting your wrist, is enough to select, confirm or cancel.
- Personality: Conversations that change with the time of day and its mood. It asks questions, sulks if ignored and can even fall asleep.
- Four characters: Alev, Damla, Kaya and Esme, each with its own speaking speed, patience and reactions.
- Apps: Pomodoro, clock, tracker, ping-pong, balance and rhythm. You choose which ones are installed.
- Works offline: It runs on USB-C power and needs a connection only for settings and updates.
Refix Studio
I built a browser-based tool for choosing characters, arranging apps and updating the firmware. No installation needed: just connect Refix to a computer and change its settings.

What I did
I took Refix from an idea to a kit ready for sale: hardware and a 3D-printed case, a motion-controlled interface, the personality and dialogue system, games, the browser-based settings tool and user documentation.
